The Wilderness Systems Kayak Krate sophisticates the tankwell storage experience with a superior functional interface and sleek look never before seen in a fishing gear storage crate. An open maincompartment accommodates larger gear and tackle boxes and features removable dividers for detailed organization, while smaller items can be stowed in the secondary lid storage. Functional and durable inside and out, the Kayak Krate is blow-molded, water resistant, is easily lashed within a tankwell, and comes standard with four rod holders.
I've tried multiple kayak crates, and this is by far my favorite. It is well designed, sturdy, and reasonably priced. Easily 5 stars.
So I’ve used the krate a couple of times since owning it. It works and does everything except two things. I take 6 rods with out all the time spinning reels to be exact. There is no was unless modified, to mount 6 evenly spaced rod holders unless you remove the middle tie down and drill a hole to bolt it to the krate. My other complaint is the spacing, for 3 spinning rods on each side it’s a bit cramped but manageable. Obviously if you just use the 4 included holders there’s lots of room. Other than those two things I like it a lot. It would be nice to maybe see some type of gasket on the inner lid where your boxes go maybe something similar to a yeti or another roto molded cooler to keep water out completely and maybe something similar to the top clear lid also.
